Special/favorite moment of your day?
There were so many special moments it is hard to choose just one. One of them was my husband and I’s first dance. We did a choreographed routine that we learned from Show Her Off Dance, which is an app that teaches couples basic dance moves. Everyone loved it and was cheering us on so we did not feel nervous at all.

Our first look portraits were also one of my favorite memories. I did first looks like my dad, the groomsmen, and my husband. When I did the first look with my groomsmen, I did ice them with Smirnoff Ices. The pictures tell it all! It helped break the ice between two very emotional first looks with my dad and husband. For those brides who are thinking about not doing a first look, you should definitely do it!

Favorite Moment of Day?
Our ceremony was the favorite moment of the day for me. My husband’s friend from college was our officiant and he did an amazing job of keeping the ceremony light and funny but emotional and beautiful at the same time. My husband was worried he was going to be too emotional to read his vows but thanks to our officiant he was able to do so. Our personal vows that we shared were so beautiful and showed how much we loved each other for all friends and family on a deeper level. It is one of the most talked about parts of our wedding to this day.

Best memory of the day?
The best memory of the day for me was our speeches from the best man, maid of honor, and father of the groom. The speeches were incredible and brought tears to my husband and I’s eyes on multiple occasions. Another great memory was our bouquet toss. My husband’s cousin caught the bouquet and now just one month later, she is now engaged! It was awesome hearing that the tradition held truth and we are so happy for them.

Wedding Theme - Color
Our wedding theme was definitely a romantic wedding. We wanted a floral/greenery themed wedding with the primary color being varying shades of blue, hence why our choice in the wedding venue was so perfect. Minimal decorations were needed!

Why did you choose the dress you picked?
I chose my dress because of the detail in the bodice. There were beautiful greenery patterns that traveled all over the dress that fit perfectly with the theme of our wedding. There was also the hint of glittery in the lace that made the dress shine in the light. It was also comfortable and fit my body type well. There were no pictures from our wedding day that I did not like how I looked.

A few sentences about your wedding?
If I was to describe our wedding in a few sentences, I would say it was a small and intimate wedding. But it was full of so much emotion and love from all parties and that is what made it truly spectacular. It was not about the decorations, food, or wedding attire. Those little details did not matter to us. It was the love we shared with our entire friends and family that mattered.

How did you and your groom meet?
Ironically, we met on Tinder! My husband needed a date for his fraternity formal and we matched on tinder that week. He invited me to it and we had such a great time on our first date. The rest was history!

How did your groom propose?
My husband proposed on a family vacation to Ace Adventure Park in West Virginia. We went white water rafting that morning and went back to review the footage that the camera men caught during the rafting trip. My husband had been in contact with the park beforehand and arranged that a video montage of our favorite moments and milestones throughout our relationship would be played after the footage. After the video played, the screen asked me to marry him and my husband proposed!

Advice to a bride planning her wedding.
The best advice I could give to any bride is one I heard over and over again during my wedding process. Now that I have been through the DIY wedding planning process, I understand the advice better now. Do not stress about the little details. No one is going to remember what color your table centerpieces were or if the bridesmaids/groomsmen attire matched perfectly. People are coming to your wedding to support the love you and your husband share. That is the most important part and try not to stress about the small details. When we discuss our wedding with family/friends, the pieces they remember are our ceremony, first dance, speeches, and food. As long as you focus on the love shared between you and your partner, you will have a perfect wedding day.

What favorite part/thing/experience about shopping with Serendipity?
I loved the customer service support I received from the moment I called to make my first consultation all the way to the end when I picked my dress up. Whenever there were issues/concerns I brought up, the team was so quick to address them. They were always so patient, understanding, warm, and friendly! Which I appreciated during the stressful parts of wedding planning.

One special feature to highlight is that we had our dogs that we rescued together in our wedding ceremony. One of our dogs was the ring bearer and the other was the flower girl.
